Nowadays, ports the main infrastructure of a country's economic development, are considered as a significant communication bridge in exchange of goods as well as marine land transport. Throughout history, access to free waters and huge ports have been the key roles for successful business of countries.

The Imam Khomeini Port Authority's Marketing Department works with shipping lines, freight forwarders, brokers, and shippers to increase the flow of cargo through area marine terminals.  The Marketing Department also produces brochures, CD-Roms, pamphlets, presentations, and other publicity materials describing the Port and the regional maritime community.
